HBS is making a name for itself in fashion – the founders of Gilt Groupe and Rent the Runway both hail from the school. But what’s making waves today is the annual fashion show run by Harvard’s Retail and Luxury Goods Club.
At $75 per ticket, and $50 for VIP students, it was a pricey affair in downtown Boston to benefit Dress for Success, a non-profit providing interview clothing and career development to low-income women.
Or was it an excuse to show off HBS’ goods and services?
It did not escape us that the New York Times made an appearance at the exclusive event.”The retail and luxury goods club, members said, looked for outfits that might be equally appropriate for the dance floor and the trading floor.”
One thing: if the pretty lady [pictured right] showed up on the trading floor wearing that, we’d be curious how much work got done that day.
HBS seriously knows PR. Seriously.
